At its May 6 meeting the Clovis Unified School District Governing Board approved a slate of routine and substantive items and scheduled several public hearings for May 20.
Consent items approved included conference requests, fundraisers, student trips, voluntary community recreation programs, approval of April 22 meeting minutes, ratification of district purchase orders and contracts numbered 560709510 through 560710235, change orders, and authorization for an agreement placing a student with special needs in a residential treatment center. Most consent motions passed by 6–0 votes with Board Member Steven Fogg absent.
Under action items the board authorized a service agreement with KLSD Education to provide summer enrichment for the Expanded Learning Club program; ratified the district’s proposal and approved disclosure related to the Association of Clovis Educators (ACE) Naturalists negotiations (motion moved by Hugh Awtrey and seconded by Yolanda Moore); accepted the Third Quarter Financial Report; and authorized an amendment to extend an agreement with Educational Employees Credit Union for the Clovis West High School Career Technical Education Banking and Finance Branch program and on‑site ATM.
The board awarded Bid No. 3070 for plumbing and grounds supplies and Bid No. 3074 for pavement maintenance (various sites). The meeting record also notes several upcoming bid recommendations to be brought back for action at a future date.
Under information items the board reviewed several annual items including the Annual School Plan for Student Achievement and administrative authorizations. The agenda also documents a proposed School Facilities Needs Analysis (Resolution No. 4092) that would increase Level I developer fees to $0.87 per square foot for commercial construction and propose Level II fees of $6.38 per square foot for new residential construction; that item is listed in the information section for future action and the transcript does not show adoption at this meeting.
Closed session outcomes reported to the public included approval of routine personnel matters and approval of student discipline matters (Students No. 26‑12 through 26‑15). The meeting adjourned at 8:09 p.m.
