Abington Heights School District board approves provider agreements and preliminary budget

At its meeting, the Abington Heights School District board unanimously approved several service and affiliation agreements, authorized the sale of repository property and voted to advance a preliminary general fund budget for public review.
A district presenter asked the board to approve affiliation and service contracts, including an academic-experience affiliation with Penn West and agreements with Abayana Health Care, Musicardia University and Graham Academy. The presenter also requested approval of provider agreements for the Children’s Service Center (partial hospitalization and therapeutic educational programs) and the Veil transition skills center for the 2627 school year. Each motion was moved and seconded and carried by a recorded vote of 7–0.
The chair praised staff work on the budget, saying the presenter and staff "did a good job" during the discussion. A board member gave a short update on the AEIOU meeting on May 8, stating, "We approved a $2,500 grant for the Future Business Leaders of America (the high school), and to date this school year they have donated $29,000 in contributions." The board encouraged community donations for the upcoming NEPA Gibbs event on June 4–5.
