Commissioners discussed increasing the mechanic’s pay earlier in the item; an initial motion by Commissioner Kelly Simon to raise the position from $19 to $22 an hour did not receive a second. The successful higher-rate motion followed further discussion about recruitment and equipment maintenance costs.
