Kenosha County LWCC unanimously approves grant application and work plan; seeks Lake Association representative

Chairperson Guida Brown called the Kenosha County Land & Water Conservation Committee to order at 5:06 p.m. April 1 at the county planning and development conference room in Bristol.
The committee unanimously approved the Feb. 11, 2026 meeting minutes after a motion from committee member Keith Gray and a second from Chairperson Guida Brown. County Conservationist Paul Tollard then presented a brief overview of the county's 2027 Soil & Water Resource Management Grant application; committee member Dave Daniels moved to approve the grant application, John Holloway seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Tollard also summarized the 2026 Soil & Water Resource Management annual work plan. Committee member Keith Gray moved to approve the work plan, Frederick Brookhouse seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
In member comments, Committee member Dave Daniels said the LWCC still does not have a representative from a Lake Association and members discussed ways to solicit interested individuals and to educate the county board about the Land & Water Resource Management Plan. Tollard updated the committee on the Wisconsin Land + Water Conservation Association annual conference at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, a five-year FEMA Community Rating System review, and the Wisconsin DNR NR151 Progress and Resource Analysis (NPRA) that requests county assistance with farm data.
The committee tentatively set its next meeting for June 10 at 5 p.m. in the Kenosha County Planning and Development Conference Room. Frederick Brookhouse moved to adjourn at 6:08 p.m.; Dave Daniels seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Meeting minutes were prepared by Paul Tollard.
