Patrick Brzozowski, general manager of the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority, described window repairs needed at the Historical Texana Church in Brackenridge Park. The court approved Joe R. Jones Construction, Inc.'s bid to repair and replace the church windows, with LNRA partnering on a 50/50 cost split; funding was directed to come from the county's permanent improvement fund.
Separately, the court accepted a $20,000 private donation from the K.R. and Laura Miller Foundation to the Jackson County Historical Commission to support a Law Enforcement Exhibit at the Old Jail. The Clerk's notes indicate both the construction bid and the donation letter are on file among court exhibits.
Next steps: County staff and LNRA are expected to coordinate contract execution and payment from permanent improvement funds. The donation was received and recorded; the Historical Commission will proceed with the exhibit plans using the donated funds.
