Dale County Commission adopts 10‑year solid waste management plan

Commissioner Adam Enfinger moved to approve the plan and Commissioner Frankie Wilson seconded; all five commissioners voted "aye." The plan explicitly covers Dale County and the municipalities listed in the adopted document, including Daleville, Ozark, Ariton, Newton, Midland City, Napier Field, Grimes, Pinckard, Clayhatchee, Level Plains and the portion of Enterprise located in Dale County. The resolution records that the plan will serve as the county's ten‑year basis for solid waste management and that it will expire for reporting purposes on Jan. 1, 2035.
The commission’s action followed the county engineer’s preparation of the plan and a public hearing used to solicit input and consolidate citizen concerns into the final document, as described in the resolution text. The resolution authorizes the commission chairman to sign correspondence, documents and assurances required to submit the plan to the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
The commission approved the plan without amendment. The next regular meeting of the Dale County Commission is scheduled for April 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., according to the minutes.
