Council interviews airport authority and historic preservation board applicants

The council held a series of board interviews at the start of the workshop. Applicants for the Boca Raton Airport Authority included Melvin Pollock (longtime board member and past chair), Bob Tucker (current board member and former chair), Howard Greenberg (pilot and FAA safety volunteer), Michael Grama (aviation professional) and Gene Folden (former airport chair). Each applicant summarized aviation, governance or financial experience and asked for reappointment or consideration.

Fabiola Bernier introduced herself as a community educator and museum professional with work at the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum and support from Pearl City community groups; she asked to be considered for the Historic Preservation Board. A late arrival, Larry Dinner, expressed interest in the Citizens Pedestrian and Bikeway Advisory Board and described decades of residence and cycling advocacy.

Mayor Thompson said appointments will be considered at the council meeting the following evening and encouraged applicants to attend but noted attendance was not required.
