The Geneva County Commission on March 23 approved resolutions to expand the county Industrial Park and to purchase approximately 100.73 acres from landowner Jarvis Skinner for $1,007,300, with the closing scheduled for April 1, 2026.
County Attorney Phil Eldridge said the meeting satisfied the notice requirements under Code section 11-23-3 and opened a public hearing, during which no members of the public spoke. The Commission adopted a resolution changing the Industrial Park boundary and adopted a separate resolution authorizing the county to purchase the parcel and allowing Chairman Toby Seay to sign closing documents. Both votes were recorded 3-0 with Commissioner Jeff Hatcher abstaining from each.
