Board approves No Ink poll pads for Placer County vote centers

Ronco told supervisors that 16 California counties already use the system and that the product has been evaluated for nearly a decade; he said the technology does not touch ballot tabulation hardware and will not change ballot counting procedures. A public caller asked how long the software has been in service and about indemnification and backup procedures in case of a cyber incident; Ronco replied that the product is in wide use, noted connectivity (not cybersecurity) is the most frequent operational issue, and described offline rosters and redundancy plans to allow vote centers to continue operating without live connectivity.
Supervisor Gustafson moved approval and the Board adopted the purchase by roll call vote.
