Sheriff reports 39 inmates; AT&T and DPS give communications and districting updates

Chief Deputy Chris Hennsley told the Lynn County Commissioner’s Court on Sept. 22 that the county jail held 39 inmates.
Hennsley provided a breakdown: 12 from Potter County, 2 from Lubbock, 1 from Floyd and 25 from Lynn County. "Total - 39," he reported to the court. The numbers were delivered during the sheriff’s office report portion of the meeting.
Separately, a representative from AT&T demonstrated phone, MiFi and Push-to-Talk capabilities available to county departments, citing applicability for the Sheriff’s Office, JP Precinct 1, Elections and the Emergency Management Coordinator. The presentation was informational; no procurement decision was recorded at the meeting.
DPS Sergeant Jerry Johnson provided an update on changes to DPS districting that took effect at the end of August and outlined goals for Lynn County under the revised districts.
No members of the public addressed the court during the public-comment period. The meeting adjourned at 10:55 a.m.
