Commissioner Weston Spivey moved to authorize Chairman Toby Seay to draft a recovery plan to restore timely audits; the motion passed 3-0, and the commission directed that the item remain on future agendas until resolved.

The commission acted on personnel-training policy. Administrator Williams described instances in which the county paid for CDL training and the trained employee soon left county employment. County Attorney Phil Eldridge cautioned that statutes allowing recoupment for first responders do not apply to non-law-enforcement hires. Commissioner Bart Wilks moved to discontinue paying for CDL training; motion passed 3-0.

Finance action: Attorney Eldridge presented lease-purchase documents from Trustmark Bank for two 2026 Kenworth T880 dump trucks and associated bodies with a total financed amount of $445,640 and five annual payments of $101,549.86. Commissioner Jeff Hatcher moved to approve the lease and option to purchase and authorize Chairman Seay to sign after legal review; Commissioner Weston Spivey seconded and the motion passed 2-0.
