Resident describes armed confrontation and arrests after April 16 burglary in Lynn County

A resident told the Commissioners Court that a burglary on April 16 at FM 212 led to a neighbor confronting suspects with a firearm; a TDCJ tracking dog later located the suspects, who are now in the Lynn County Jail. No one was harmed, the resident said.
Christopher Hennsley told the Lynn County Commissioners Court on April 27 about a burglary in progress on April 16 along FM 212 that resulted in suspects being apprehended and jailed in Lynn County.
According to Hennsley, this was the second burglary in the area that week. A neighbor confronted the suspects with a pistol; shots were exchanged and the victim was able to shoot out the suspects' vehicle tires as the vehicle fled. A TDCJ tracking dog was used in a subsequent search and located both suspects inside the vehicle; Hennsley said the suspects are now inmates at the Lynn County Jail. He added that recent burglaries had been concentrated along FM 400 and that the suspects appear to be from Lubbock.
Judge Mike Braddock thanked Hennsley for the report and reminded those who work on or near county roads to remain vigilant and report suspicious behavior to law enforcement. The Sheriff's Office provided the jail count elsewhere on the agenda (total 41 inmates, including 27 in Lynn County and 14 in Lubbock).
