Lynn County court approves finance report and claims, hears sheriff's inmate report, and issues burn-ban reminder

At the Feb. 9 Lynn County Commissioners Court meeting, the court approved the county finance report for December 2025 and authorized payment of claims and payroll.
County Treasurer Amy Schuknecht reported there were no budget amendments and presented the December 2025 finance report; Commissioner Tate Gass moved to approve and Commissioner Larry Durham seconded, and the court voted unanimously. Later, Treasurer Schuknecht presented claims and payroll and the court approved payment on a unanimous vote.
Chief Deputy Hennsley delivered the Sheriff's Office report, recording a total inmate population of 42: 32 in Lynn County, 2 in Lubbock and 9 in Potter. County Clerk Karen Rendon reported there were no bonds to approve.
Under other business, Treasurer Schuknecht reminded people who had not paid for a Christmas advertisement to settle payment, and Judge Pro-Tem John Hawthorne reminded the court that if Lynn County is subject to a burn ban, there should be no burning; controlled burns require notification to the Sheriff's Office.
The court adjourned at 10:10 a.m.
