Lynn County commissioners approve UMB Bank credit-card resolution, table game-room rules and primary canvass

County Treasurer Amy Schuknecht told the court that UMB Bank needed an updated resolution for Lynn County. Commissioner Tate Gass moved to approve the Resolution and Agreement for the credit-card program; Commissioner Larry Durham seconded, and “all voted in favor,” the minutes state. Judge Mike Braddock and Commissioners Gass and Durham were present for the vote; Commissioners Matt Woodley and John Hawthorne were absent.
The court approved a bond application for Melissa Pedroza to serve as deputy clerk for Justice of the Peace Precinct 1. Karen Rendon, County Clerk, presented the single bond and the motion to approve was made by Commissioner Gass and seconded by Commissioner Durham; the motion carried with all present voting in favor.
On procedural motions, Judge Braddock asked the court to pass agenda item 3 because staff had identified typographical inconsistencies between the game-room application and the regulations. Commissioner Durham moved to table the item for a future agenda; Commissioner Gass seconded and the motion carried unanimously among members present.
County Clerk Karen Rendon also reported she had received an email from the State that prevented her from canvassing the primary election until Thursday, March 12, 2026. Judge Braddock moved to table the canvass until that date; Commissioner Durham seconded and the motion carried.
County Treasurer Amy Schuknecht read claims and payroll to the court and, on a motion by Commissioner Durham seconded by Commissioner Gass, the court approved payment. The minutes record that “all voted in favor.”
Chief Deputy Christopher Hennsley provided the sheriff’s office report: total jail population 39, including 33 Lynn County inmates, four from Potter County and two from Lubbock.
The court adjourned at 10:14 a.m. after approving the listed actions; the canvass is scheduled to be considered on March 12, 2026, per the county clerk’s statement.
