Elections staff reports precinct-boundary mapping errors ahead of May 2 Lynn County election

Kathy Grant told the Lynn County Commissioners Court on April 27 that her elections office has received complaints about a contested race on the May 2 ballot and discovered precinct-boundary mapping errors affecting Tahoka Independent School District.
Grant said the school superintendent provided a legible map showing district lines and indicated a boundary drawn along County Club Road that appeared to split TISD precincts. She said her office had a blank map from SPAG and staff spent days redrawing boundary lines to create a readable map for county offices. Grant told the court that roughly 43 pages of resident records in the county's TEAMS system had been entered as "TISD" and not assigned to the correct Tahoka ISD precinct.
She said staff corrected the paper maps and pollbooks used during early voting, but the electronic TEAMS entries still need to be corrected after the election. Grant asked that any complaints about the situation be directed to her office so she could address them directly.
The court took no formal action on the report during the meeting; Grant framed the briefing as informational and asked for assistance directing complaints to elections staff.
