Lynn County Commissioners approve routine measures, shift bank for supervision department and accept sealed bid

The Lynn County Commissioners Court moved through several administrative and financial items at its April 13 regular meeting in Tahoka, approving routine measures that county officials said were necessary for operations.
Among the actions, the court unanimously approved the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) annual Cybersecurity Training Course requirement for anyone using a county computer. The court also accepted a proclamation recognizing Child Abuse Prevention Month after a motion by Commissioner Larry Durham and a second by Commissioner Matt Woodley.
The court authorized moving the Lynn County Community Supervision and Corrections Department account from UMB Bank to Happy State Bank and updated authorized signatories; Commissioner Larry Durham moved that change and Commissioner Tate Gass seconded. The court opened sealed bids for county equipment: no bid was received for Precinct 4, and Precinct 2 received a bid from Jimmy Jolly of $1,800 for a pickup, which the court accepted. Chief Deputy Chris Hennsley also presented paperwork to sell one 2010 Motorola APX 6500 in-car radio to the Tahoka Police Department for $100; the court approved the sale.
County Treasurer Arny Schuknecht reported there were no budget amendments and no finance report to approve. The court approved claims and payroll after Schuknecht read the bills. The court adjourned at 10:29 a.m.
Items that did not result in action included a discussion about an employee repaying the county to restore sick time; Sheriff Mason indicated repayment would not be accepted by the employee and no action was taken.
