Commission OKs donation of county lot to Integra Community Mental Health Systems

The Lee County Commission voted to donate a county-owned parcel on Corporate Drive to Integra Community Mental Health Systems so the provider can expand co-located services.

Sarah Cox of Integra told commissioners the organization already operates an inpatient unit next to the parcel and said additional property would let the agency reduce travel for clients and add services locally. "Yes, we are anxious about having additional property so we can expand the services that we currently provide," Cox said.

A commissioner moved that the county give the Corporate Drive lot to Integra Community Mental Health Systems; the motion was seconded and approved by the commission with no opposition voiced.

The donation transfers county real property to a mental-health provider; the commission did not discuss a purchase price or conditions in the meeting record. The action therefore appears to be a direct conveyance of the parcel to Integra to support expanded outpatient and co‑located services.

The commission did not state a timetable for deed execution in the record. County staff and Integra representatives indicated the site is adjacent to an existing inpatient unit and said co-location would reduce travel for people served.
