During its Sept. 3 meeting, the City of Casey council approved a slate of routine administrative actions and committee appointments.
The council voted to enter the Museum Commission minutes of June 5 into the city's record and approved a waiver of the attendance policy for Charlita Earl of the Museum Commission for just cause. Council reappointed Maxine Creamer to the Events Committee and appointed Mike Harlan to fill an open seat. The council also reappointed Megan Lytle and Fletcher Smith to the Municipal Election Commission after earlier postponement related to state legislation.
Council members praised recent city projects — including completion of the Kelly Jones River Park river access and a new concrete pad for fire apparatus — and noted upcoming events such as Fall Fest and a police department event at Granby Park on Sept. 21.
Council voted to schedule a special meeting for Sept. 11 at 5 p.m. and forego the regular Sept. 18 meeting. The council later moved into executive session for legal advice on claims and economic development matters and, on returning to open session, reported no formal action taken in executive session.
All procedural motions recorded in the meeting were passed on roll‑call votes recorded as unanimous 'yes' responses.
