The veterans office also said the outreach van is operational but staff face logistical challenges transporting it from offsite storage; staff will coordinate rides and assistance as needed. The official encouraged residents to visit the office for eligibility assessments and described narrow paperwork hurdles that sometimes prevent benefits enrollment.
Supervisors thanked staff for the update and did not take additional votes; the veterans office will continue outreach and training activities to connect eligible residents with benefits.
