CUSD 201 board approves contracts, waivers and staffing items including three-year Benchmark ELA renewal

The CUSD 201 Board of Education approved a series of action items on May 19, adopting routine and programmatic measures that the administration presented.
Key approvals included authorization for the treasurer to pay bills received in May 2026; approval of the Spanish 6 Honors course at Westmont High School; and a memorandum of understanding with Moon Wellness LLC (Kate Moon Reese/Oak Elm Collective Therapy) to provide counseling services to Westmont High students.
The board also approved a three-year renewal agreement with Benchmark Education Company for Benchmark Advanced K–5 ELA resources in the amount of $83,272.20. Administration stated the three-year renewal locks pricing and saves approximately $6,000 compared with annual renewals (S8). The board approved a multi-year contract for Ronald O'Connor covering 2026'029.
Other business included approval of a parent and family engagement policy required for the consolidated district plan, approval of the consolidated district plan for Title grants, and approval of Title I schoolwide waivers for Miller Elementary, Manning Elementary, Westmont Junior High and Westmont High School. All listed motions passed by roll call.
