The Desert Hot Springs City Council voted unanimously on May 19 to approve two tax-roll placements for Desert Valley Disposal.
• Annual residential assessment: City/agency staff and a DVD representative presented a request to place $607,120.70 on the FY 2026–27 tax roll to cover roughly 8,190 residential accounts. The council adopted the resolution as presented.
• Delinquent billings: Staff reported $240,432.38 in delinquent DVD accounts (169 accounts) sought for placement on the tax roll; the council approved that resolution as well.
Both items were heard in public hearings with no in-person testimony; one written comment from Brad Anderson of Rancho Mirage was noted. Each motion passed unanimously by the members present. The council provided no additional direction on implementation or appeals at the meeting.
