Committee advances library roof and HVAC planning, approves engineering steps but opts not to pursue separate building-envelope engineering

Pat Goldammer moved that the committee recommend issuing RFPs for the library roofing replacement project; Cindy Mooney seconded and the motion carried. Goldammer then moved that the committee recommend the JE Frey contract for structural engineering services to inform an RFP on library building enclosure work; that motion, seconded by Koeller, carried. The JE Frey scope recorded in the minutes includes installation of a rooftop hatch and safety ladder, a rooftop occlusion screen for HVAC equipment and steel for potential reinforcement to support a new HVAC installation on the flat roof area.
Committee members also approved recommending the Village Board proceed with an RFP and further research into bids with Omnia Partners for the library HVAC equipment replacement project, and they approved the Eagle Design contract for HVAC engineering services to prepare an HVAC RFP. Both motions were recorded as carried.
Separately, the committee voted to not proceed with building envelope enclosure engineering on the library building; the motion to not proceed was moved by Koeller and seconded by Goldammer and carried. The minutes do not explain how this decision affects the previously approved JE Frey structural engineering work described above, nor do they specify contract values, timelines or funding sources.
All motions related to library projects were recorded as carried; the minutes show the committee recommending the Village Board consider the RFPs and engineering contracts. The Village Board will need to act on those recommendations before procurement or construction work can begin.
