Monroe County approves Scantek, T-Mobile and other procurement contracts
Summary
The Board approved a Scantek document-conversion contract ($487,863 base), several T-Mobile for Governments device and service agreements (annualized at $81,889.92 for one package), a fixed-price natural gas contract, arbitrage calculation services and other vendor additions and equipment purchases.
Monroe County commissioners on May 6 approved multiple procurement and service agreements spanning document conversion, telecommunications, fuel procurement, arbitrage calculations and equipment purchases.
The board carried Motion M-2026-128 to approve a Scantek, Inc. agreement (May 1, 2026–April 30, 2029) under CoStars (#009-E22-090) with a base contract amount of $487,863.00 for document conversion and optional items for document conversion. As part of the same motions the board approved T-Mobile for Governments agreements that include 22 Sonim XP Pros (monthly charge $387.16), 218 iPhone 17e, 2 iPad tablets and 19 hotspots at a monthly rate of $6,824.16 (annualized $81,889.92), an E-cycle trade-in quote with a total maximum payment of $20,731.00, and a Starlink/Everlink 1 Mobility Kit for $2,499 (equipment) with a monthly charge of $65.00.
The board also ratified a contract with Interstate Gas Supply, LLC to provide natural gas at a fixed price of $5.59 per MCF for a list of county accounts for the period July 1, 2026–May 31, 2029; approved arbitrage-rebate calculations by Arbitrage Rebate Counselors, LLC for General Obligation Note Series 2022 ($2,500) and Series 2014 ($1,500); and approved a professional services agreement for boundary surveying with UTRS ($7,600) and a solicitor services agreement for the Sheriff’s Department with Jason R. Costanzo, Esq. ($15,000/year).
Vice-Chairman David C. Parker noted the T-Mobile agreements “will save a substantial amount of money compared to the current contract.” Fiscal Director Jennifer Barclay also explained that laptop purchases and remote-access capabilities will reduce vendor travel charges and save the county money going forward.
