Occupational therapy providers urge board to keep Omni contract, citing 40-year relationship

Haskin said Omni has provided consistent, student-centered occupational therapy across multiple grade levels for roughly 40 years, supports staff through training and fieldwork supervision and partners with teachers and families. "The longevity of our partnership reflects not only consistency in service delivery, but also a deep understanding of the district's culture, expectations, and the evolving needs of its students and families," she said.
The presenter asked the board to value continuity for students and highlighted the company’s role mentoring occupational therapy assistant students through level-2 field work placements. The board acknowledged the comment and thanked the speaker; no contract vote was taken during the public portion of the meeting.
Why it matters: continuity of related services such as occupational therapy can affect individualized education program (IEP) delivery and student access to support. The provider emphasized institutional memory, training and local presence as reasons for retaining the partnership.
