Commissioners approve $30,000 sidewalk and handicap parking work for Fisher County satellite voting center

County commissioners voted to approve a contract with Bilodeau Construction for about $30,000 to add a sidewalk and handicap parking apron at the Fisher County satellite voting center.
Johnson, a county staff member who presented the item, said the work is intended to bring the building into compliance for use as a voting center. "It's 120 feet of sidewalk along the side of the building," Johnson said, and the plan includes a "24 by 40 by 6 inch concrete apron" at the front of the building to provide handicap parking and a new egress route for voters.
Johnson told the board there are only a small number of concrete contractors available locally and that Bilodeau provided the current estimate. He said the contractor's formal deadline in the contract is May 31 but that the contractor has committed to an earlier completion, adding that staff hopes the work "to be done by May 10." Commissioners discussed minor interior floor leveling they expect to do themselves and confirmed the project scope includes some slab and bathroom floor work.
Commissioner (S1) moved to approve the sidewalk and handicap parking contract for "Bilodeau Construction, dollars 30,000," and Chair (S2) seconded. The motion was approved on a voice vote after commissioners indicated "Aye." The approval was accompanied by a note from staff that the expense would be charged to capital outlays funded from LATCF funds, which Johnson described as being provided under ARPA.
Johnson also said he has a follow-up meeting scheduled with Aaron Lisonbee of Staley to discuss the main entrance elevations and ramp design, which will inform any future street-side entrance work. Staff and commissioners discussed moving a nearby trash bin and the logistics of contract signature, including using DocuSign and a later in-person signature by a named official who was expected to arrive.
The board set its next meeting for Tuesday, May 5, 2026, and adjourned at about 9:09 a.m.
