Brookfield committee approves slate of licenses and special-event permits, postpones one bartender application

Brookfield’s Legislative & Licensing Committee on Tuesday approved a package of business and alcohol licenses, confirmed dates for several summer events in Civic Plaza and Wirth Park, and postponed one bartender application for further documentation.
Alderman Chuck Bloom III moved to approve the committee’s agenda of renewals and new licenses; the motions were routinely seconded and passed on voice votes of 5-0. The approvals included a New Massage Business License for Calm Module in Massage Co. (405 N. Calhoun Road, Suite 102; agent Ben Schultz) and an Original Class A Beer and Liquor License for Entire LLC, d/b/a Kwik Run (15655 W. North Avenue; agent Babubhai P. Patel). The committee also approved a lengthy slate of renewal alcohol licenses covering retail and on-premise establishments such as Brookfield Place BP, Cost Plus World Market, multiple Metro Market and Pick N Save locations, Sendik’s Fine Foods, Target Store T-2780, Trader Joe’s #726, numerous restaurants and entertainment venues, and others listed on the meeting agenda.
The committee approved a premise extension for The Elbow Room (2850 N. Brookfield Road) to host a tented World Cup Beer Garden/Kids Fest/Fundraiser on specified June and July dates; the extension allows a 30-by-50-foot tent on the east side of the building and requires City of Brookfield–licensed bartenders. The committee also granted a Temporary Class B Beer and Wine License to the Elmbrook Rotary Club for the Brookfield Summer Concert on July 8, 2026, at Civic Plaza, and approved off-premise retail outlets for North Pillar Brewery.
Several seasonal event dates were confirmed: the Brookfield Civic Plaza Concert Series (June 10, July 8 and August 12, 2026) at 2000 N. Calhoun Road; Wirth Park Beer Gardens (June 26, July 17, August 21 and September 11, 2026) at 2585 Pilgrim Road; and a special event tent at Wirth Park Area #9 on October 16, 2026. Meeting materials noted that the tent permit for The Elbow Room had been approved by the Zoning & Building Administrator.
The committee postponed consideration of an Original Bartender License for Alicia E. Goetter for 60 days and set a requirement that the applicant provide proof of car insurance and appear at the July 21, 2026 committee meeting to resolve the application. That postponement stemmed from outstanding documentation flagged during the meeting.
The meeting also approved the appointment of Mark S. Nelson to the city’s Ethics Board. The session opened at 6:49 p.m. with a quorum present and adjourned at 7:47 p.m. Minutes were recorded as submitted by Mary Schulz, CAP Administration & Licensing Clerk.
