The Lake Central School Corporation board voted May 18 to award a $189,000 contract to Site Services for asphalt resurfacing of the Lake Central High School tennis courts and approved authorizing district staff to award related fencing and surfacing contracts before the next board meeting.
Director of facilities Mr. Lehi told the board the bid package included resurfacing of the main two tennis courts with an alternate to resurface a short pathway from the gate to the ring road. He said Site Services was the low responsible bidder at $189,000 and recommended the board award and execute the contract.
Board members moved and seconded the motion; the chair called a voice vote and recorded the motion as passed. Mr. Lehi said the district must act quickly because the courts cannot be taken from the coach until June 8 and contractors will be available in a narrow window; he asked for permission to finalize fencing and surfacing contracts between meetings and report back in June.
Trustees also approved a separate donation from the Koehlein PTO for three water-filling fixtures (total $7,970) and confirmed the operations fund will pay for installation labor. A board member asked whether installation was included; Mr. Lehi said the district would cover installation costs.
The board indicated unanimous consent by voice vote on these items; individual roll-call tallies were not recorded in the meeting transcript. The district will present final contract details to the board at its June meeting.
