Schugel and the gun club proposed rejecting the bids so staff could work with the Sioux Valley Gun Club on alternative options, such as constructing a clubhouse first and using existing onsite storage for the near term.
A councillor (speaker 4) moved a resolution to reject all bids for the advertised project and direct staff to work with the Sioux Valley Gun Club on alternatives; the motion was seconded and carried by roll call.
Council asked staff to continue discussions with the DNR about grant conditions and to return with options and cost estimates for phased approaches.
