Glacier County authorizes sheriff to accept seized drug funds and share with Blackfeet Law Enforcement Service

Goldberg described how the seizure money is used: it is deposited into the county’s drug enforcement account and pays for items such as training, undercover buy money, equipment and other drug‑enforcement activities. He emphasized that available seizure funds vary case by case; sometimes investigations yield no assets and sometimes they yield significant proceeds.
Chair (speaker 2) and commissioners asked questions about accounting and auditing. The sheriff noted county auditors will need documentation showing which official approved transfers into Glacier County so shared funds can be tracked. Commissioner (speaker 1) moved the authorization and Commissioner (speaker 4) seconded; the board voted in favor.
The motion authorizes the sheriff’s office to accept drug‑seizure proceeds into the county eSHARE account and to share the sheriff’s agreed portion with Blackfeet Law Enforcement Service, with expenditures returning to the task force drug account for enforcement and training uses.
