"The main reason I was here today is trying to find out the status of the Morning Gun Road," the resident said, asking whether the road is a county road and whether an alternate route such as Morrigan Road could be used if Looking Glass is closed. They said that if Looking Glass is closed, "we only have one real way to get out of town." The resident asked staff to check with John Evans about jurisdiction and maintenance.
The resident also asked whether mag chloride could be applied to the first mile and a quarter of Heart Butte Road, which they said is a county road, noting prior equipment problems but praising recent blading work by the road department.
Speakers at the meeting noted recent wind-related tree damage and small fires caused when trees contacted power lines; one attendee reported the lodge "lost about 1,000 trees," while another reported a homeowner lost about 80 trees. The chair said staff would ask John Evans and follow up with the resident and that the resident planned to return as a scheduled agenda item next week to discuss fire alarm business.
No formal action or vote on road treatment was taken at the meeting; staff committed to follow up and provide information to the resident.
