Committee clears multiple procurement and service contract recommendations for 2026–27 school year

Items approved or recommended to the full board included lowest-bid awards on meat/frozen products, milk, fruit juice, fresh fruit and vegetables, supplies and disposables, and janitorial/paper products; contract extension options for linen services and concentrated detergents; and a three‑year proposal acceptance for comprehensive sewer treatment plant services from Stat Waste Stream Services (07/01/2026–06/30/2029) with options to extend by mutual agreement. Funding for the food-related awards was identified as the Child Nutrition Program Fund.
Staff noted these were line-item awards (awarded by product line rather than a lump-sum contract) and, where applicable, said the district must adhere to bid specifications and public procurement law. Several items drew no public comment, and motions were moved and seconded with no objections recorded.
The committee also authorized the purchasing department to re-advertise maintenance items where no bid was received, and allowed one-year contract extensions for multiple vendors where mutual agreement exists.
Next steps: items were forwarded to the full board for final approval and execution as required by district procurement procedures.
