The Grantsville City Planning Commission heard a staff presentation May 19 on a proposed amendment to the Kenneth Lawson subdivision and a commercial final plat application for a Holiday Oil site at 794 East Main Street (CG zone), adjacent to an existing Maverik.
Shelby, planning staff, explained the plat amendment dedicates right‑of‑way for Main Street and grants Lot 2 access to both Main Street and SR‑112; staff presented turn studies and setback information. Brent Neil, who identified himself as a Holiday Oil representative, answered commissioner questions about construction timing and shoulder improvements requested by UDOT. Neil said construction would take approximately 5–6 months and that Holiday Oil aims to open by year‑end, subject to addressing DRC comments and required UDOT improvements.
A commissioner moved to recommend approval of the subdivision amendment and commercial final plat to the city council with the conditions outlined in the staff report. The motion was taken forward for city council review; the transcript does not include a roll‑call tally.
