Staff said briefing packets and "leave‑behinds" will be prepared before the trip, and John Assini (federal lobbying team, speaker 20) reported scheduled or pending meetings with U.S. senators, Representative Evans' office, DOT, DOJ, FEMA and EPA, and that staff will prioritize meetings based on council topics and time constraints. "We've so far scheduled meetings with Senator Hickenlooper, Mr. Evans, Mr. Crow's office," Assini said.
Council members signed up to take primary or backup roles on topics: local control and water, public safety, housing and housing backups, transportation, sustainability and older adults were among the assignments. Staff said briefings and talking points will be circulated and staff will be available to prep members before the fly‑in.
What comes next: Staff will finalize schedules, distribute briefing packets and coordinate any practice sessions requested by council members ahead of the trip.
