Wayne County Commissioners on March 5 approved an agreement with the U.S. Department of the Interior and the National Park Service’s Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River unit to permit Wayne County 9-1-1 to continue locating emergency radio equipment and antennas in the river corridor through Aug. 1, 2029.
Commissioner James Shook moved to approve the agreement and Commissioner Jocelyn Cramer seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The minutes state the agreement allows emergency radio equipment and antennas to remain in the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River region but do not include technical specifications or exact installation locations.
The board did not record public comment or objections. The agreement extends the county’s ability to site communications infrastructure in a federal park-managed corridor, which the minutes list through the 2029 date.
