County administrator: Clackamas County projects win three regional awards; budget committee to meet May 26–28

The county administrator said Clackamas County secured three regional top-project awards and announced that the board will convene as the county budget committee beginning Tuesday, May 26.

The administrator told the board that a regional construction trade journal recognized the Clackamas County Courthouse Project, the Oak Lodge Library and Concord Community Center Project, and a project cited in the transcript as the “Short Stack Milwaukee” housing project, which the administrator said was led in coordination with the city of Milwaukee. "This is pretty significant," the administrator said, and noted county staff will attend a banquet at the Oregon Convention Center in June to accept the awards.

The announcement highlighted staff efforts on large, board-authorized capital projects. "So thank you to our amazing staff for their work on these massive projects authorized by you, of course, board of county commissioners," the administrator said.

The administrator also delivered a procedural update on the board calendar. Because the board will meet as the budget committee starting Tuesday, May 26 at 8 a.m. and continuing May 27 and May 28 until the work is finished, the administrator said there will be no regular board business meeting on Thursday, May 28. The administrator said the next regular business meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 4.
