The Nance County Board of Equalization on May 12, 2026, approved a Tax List Correction that removes a $53.94 personal property assessment from the 2025 roll and authorizes a $26.97 refund. The meeting was called to order at 8:50 a.m. in the Supervisor’s Room at the Nance County Courthouse in Fullerton, with Chairman Tim Cornwell and all seven board members present.
County Assessor Megan Zoucha presented Tax List Correction #4, describing it as a personal property item (schedule #3254) inadvertently added to the 2025 personal property schedule. Because only the first half of 2025 taxes had been paid, the assessor calculated the refund at $26.97. Board member Andy Ditter moved to approve the correction and Steve Crouse seconded; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting in favor.
Earlier in the meeting the board recited the Pledge of Allegiance and approved the meeting agenda and the minutes of the April 28, 2026 meeting. Darren Nelson moved and Robert Voichoskie seconded approval of the agenda; Scott Russell moved and Nelson seconded approval of the minutes. All routine motions were reflected in the roll-call record as AYES from Horacek, Crouse, Ditter, Voichoskie, Nelson, Russell and Cornwell; there were no NAYS or absences recorded.
The board adjourned after completing the business on the agenda. The meeting notice had been published in the Nance County Journal on May 6, 2026, and acknowledgments of notice are on file in the county clerk’s office. The meeting record was signed by Chairman Tim Cornwell and County Clerk Adrian F. Chlopek.
