Henderson council adopts FY 2026–27 budget and several ordinances in unanimous votes

The Henderson City Council unanimously approved the city's FY 2026–27 final budget and carried several items on the agenda in a single meeting session.

David Weiser, presenting the final budget, said there were no changes from the tentative budget and that general fund revenues for FY 2027 are anticipated at $420,000,000 with total general fund expenditures of $422,500,000, the gap driven by one‑time capital items. He noted public safety represents about 60 percent of the general fund expenditures and that recurring revenues match recurring expenditures, calling the FY 2027 budget "structurally balanced."

Councilman Stewart moved to adopt the final budget. "All council members voted in favor of the motion made by councilman Stewart, and it carries," the clerk recorded.

The council also adopted two bills as ordinances: Bill No. DEV‑2025017968 (PAM Rehabilitation Hospital of West Henderson) was adopted as Ordinance No. 4161, and Bill No. ZCA‑2024066600 (The Falls at Lake Las Vegas) was adopted as Ordinance No. 4162. Both measures passed on motions made and seconded with unanimous recorded votes.

On new business, the council appointed Rhonda Knightley to the Henderson Parks and Recreation Board; the motion to appoint carried unanimously. The council also approved two resolutions required by Clark County tax acts (resolution numbers 4684 and 4685), with all members voting in favor.

No roll‑call dissent was recorded during the meeting on these items; the clerk stated each motion "carries." Council did not take additional amendment votes on the adopted items during the session.
