Board approves conditional-use permit for car dealership in unincorporated Nance County

The Nance County Board of Supervisors voted May 12 to approve a conditional-use permit to allow a car dealership to operate on land in an agricultural district, subject to two conditions set by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Dan Cornwell, the county Planning and Zoning Administrator, presented the application from landowner Kurtis Johnson. The proposed dealership would be run by Nathan Moseley on part of the SE 1/4 SE 1/4 of section 1-17-5. The commission recommended approval with two conditions: the business must abide by all existing AG district zoning regulations, and the permit is valid only for the current property and as long as the current renter (the operator) maintains the business there. The board held a public hearing and discussion before moving to approval.
Darren Nelson moved to approve the conditional-use permit and Andrew Ditter seconded. The motion carried. The board’s action permits the dealership to operate under the stated conditions; any future relocation by the operator or change of owner may nullify the permit under the second condition.
