Votes at a glance: Barron council approves consent agenda, licenses, ordinance and routine bills

The City of Barron Common Council approved several routine items at its Jan. 13 meeting.
Consent agenda: The council approved the Dec. 9, 2025 minutes; two operator licenses—Robert Lewis Ritter and Xavier Lucas Jilek—valid through June 30, 2026; the mayor’s appointment of Sue Hanson as an election inspector for a two-year term; and a certified survey map requested by Synergy Cooperative (CSM #2773). Alderperson Pete Olson moved approval of the consent agenda; Alderperson Joe Johnston seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Claims and bills: Alderperson Keith Kolpack moved to approve the claims and bills as presented; Alderperson Mo Tollman seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Alcohol licensing: The council approved the surrender of a Class B alcohol beverage license for the premises at 56 S. 3rd St. (Stix, LLC) on a motion by Alderperson Joe Johnston with Alderperson Pete Olson seconding. The council also approved the appointment of Robert L. Ritter as agent for Kwik Trip 748, 1456 E. LaSalle Ave.; Alderperson Mo Tollman moved and Alderperson Pete Olson seconded. Both motions carried unanimously.
Ordinance: The council adopted Ordinance 2026-1 to amend Chapter 50 (Traffic and Vehicles), Article III Division 3 (Bicycles), Section 50-154 (Definitions). Alderperson Keith Kolpack moved approval; Alderperson Kelly Thompson seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
All recorded motions in the minutes carried by unanimous vote of the six council members present.
