Commission approves Wylie ISD McMillan Track and Field site plan amendment

The Wylie Planning and Zoning Commission on May 19 voted 4‑0 to approve a site‑plan amendment for Wylie ISD’s McMillan Track and Field at 1000 West Park Boulevard.
Mr. Molina, the staff presenter, said the amendment adds seating, concession stands and a booth, includes new restrooms and an IT/data room, and provides additional ADA parking. He said part of the work requires tearing out concrete to relocate an existing water line but does not alter the fire lane or overall site access; a removed fence will be replaced with a new fenced gate providing access to the seating area.
The approval was moved, seconded and passed unanimously. The applicant was present and staff said it will coordinate final civil plans and details with the applicant prior to permit issuance.
The commission did not place additional conditions on the approval. The next procedural step is submittal of finalized construction plans and any required permits; no timeline for construction was specified.
