"We are requesting an FTE" for the youth behavioral health center, Ryan said, adding the department has identified offsets and grant opportunities to avoid adding to the general‑fund burden.
Ryan also noted the county was awarded a $1.5 million reauthorized legislative appropriation for La Sala's expansion, and she described the department's intent to leverage both that award and potential behavioral health reform dollars to expand reentry services and the continuum of care.
Commissioners raised a range of issues: library funding requests for La Cienega and Vista Grande; feasibility and siting of a new senior center and senior service equity across north/south; telehealth and Project ECHO integration for justice‑involved women; and a proposal to study a city‑county human rights/safe‑space center for LGBTQI residents. The board signaled support for further feasibility analysis and directed staff to provide contract lists and line‑item detail as requested.
What happens next: CSD will provide further contract details by email per board requests, refine FTE and program cost estimates and bring major capital proposals (including Project Moxie) before the board as part of the June capital process.
