Because the littoral boundary was in question and neighbors reported a potential navigational hazard, the commission continued IWWC 26‑6 to its June 17 meeting to permit a site visit and further documentation.
By contrast, the commission accepted and approved a replacement dock application at 537 East Wakefield Boulevard (IWWC 26‑10) after staff located earlier commission approval and the applicant proposed to reinstall the dock in the same location and size as the previously authorized structure. The vote to accept/approve that application was recorded as unanimous by voice vote.
The commission also accepted a novel application for a dock on a 15‑foot wide lot (IWWC 26‑11). Attorney James Steck and the property owner explained the lot configuration and asked the commission for a waiver of lateral buffer requirements. Because the request implicates waiver standards and may affect neighboring littoral rights, the commission accepted the filing and scheduled a public hearing for June 17; the applicant was instructed to provide a formal survey showing littoral boundaries and title work explaining existing easements and access rights.
Commissioners reiterated that their rules require docks not to discharge directly into the lake, that docks must meet width and square‑foot limits in section 3‑80, and that applicants who change a nonconforming dock must bring structures into compliance when they file for a new permit. Commissioners encouraged early contact with staff to resolve survey and title questions before the hearing.
