The Erie Land Bank voted to reaffirm its leadership slate and fill a vacant treasurer seat to ensure bank signatory access, the chair said. The board approved Nichols to continue as chair, Smith as vice chair and Dickerson as secretary, and the board added a member to the treasurer seat effective until the land bank’s reorganization in January 2027.
Why it matters: The treasurer is a required signatory on bank accounts; the board said filling the position will help keep vendor payments and other disbursements moving without delay.
During the reorganization discussion, the chair asked one board member by name if they would serve as treasurer; the member accepted. Board members raised availability concerns about travel and agreed the land bank’s multiple signatories would mitigate periodic absences. The board then approved a motion to adopt the slate with the addition of the treasurer and voted in favor.
What’s next: The newly constituted signatories will be provided to the bank and the appointments remain effective until the board’s next reorganization in January 2027.
