Jesse (S3), who gave the construction report, said interior crews are finishing acoustical ceilings and electrical work and that "Drywall is complete," with only touchups remaining. He told the authority that crews "are preparing to put [the elevator] in" and that a large portion of curb and gutter has been poured.
Jesse described a specialist requirement for the x‑ray room, saying the space needs lead‑lined drywall and additional framing "for the weight of the x‑ray machine." He added that shielding returned a "1 pound per square foot requirement" and said "the new x‑ray machines are pretty pretty safe." On timing, Jesse said the last update had been "hopeful for a date in July, but they could not commit to that." The authority did not set a firm opening date at the meeting.
The Chair (S1) and Jesse also summarized procurement and operating arrangements. Jesse said the county issued an RFQ to recruit medical and dental providers, and the Chair said the Municipal Building Authority will operate the building while the county "won't manage the contracts." The Chair compared the proposed management contract to the arrangement used for the county's water treatment plan.
The Chair asked staff to coordinate documents with CID/Canvas and referenced file number 45 for the MBA matter. Members invited attendees to tour the new medical building next door; Jesse offered to lead a quick walk‑through.
The update included no vote or formal commitment on a firm completion date. The authority said it will continue coordinating procurement and management details and will report further updates at future meetings.
