The representative said the department will staff three assigned cars (east side, west side and a cover car) and is drafting a memorandum of understanding with the Rockton Police Department that would trigger automatic mutual‑aid dispatch responses when Rockton’s bridge work affects service; the village already has mutual‑aid agreements but the MOU is intended to formalize automatic activation upon dispatch calls when available.
“Now this is an update on Roscoe Road Bridge to be closed. We anticipate the closure to be from June through November,” the police representative stated.
The officer said deputies and neighboring agencies have been consulted and that a draft MOU will be presented to the Committee of the Whole in approximately two weeks. During public comment resident Lucy Kerchak asked whether the MOU would also cover rescue and fire services and urged the village to publish a printed document so residents would understand emergency‑service plans during the long closure; staff offered to connect her with Chief Bergeron for more details and noted the local fire department’s mutual‑aid arrangements.
