Volunteers help West Willow homeowners during Habitat for Humanity 's Rock the Block

Habitat for Humanity Huron Valley brought more than 100 volunteers to the West Willow neighborhood for a Rock the Block event that provided landscaping, exterior revitalization and minor repairs for homeowners.
A Habitat staff member said, "We have over 100 volunteers from local businesses and corporations here to help us rock the block," and described work including minor repairs to occupied homes and neighborhood beautification.
Residents who received help described practical impacts. One homeowner said, "I just had a hip replaced... So I've been kind of supervisor today, but they have been here and doing amazing stuff," describing trimmed hedges and reduced yard work burdens. Another resident noted that many neighbors "are elderly and disabled," and said the volunteer assistance made routine maintenance possible.
