Lakeland School food service review finds strengths; state review could prompt fiscal action

Potocek told the board that an on-site review conducted March 4 assessed the program’s compliance with federal and state requirements. She identified four program strengths and several areas for growth and said corrective actions are either underway or completed. Potocek said the county will await the state’s review of the administrative findings; if the state requires no fiscal action, the review is expected to close around July 2026.
Huettl thanked Potocek and school staff for their participation in the review process and told the board he will provide updates after the state review. The meeting minutes do not record any formal vote on this item; the entry was informational and the board will receive follow-up once the state’s determination is made.
