Barbara Condon of 19641 Holiday Road addressed the council during public comment on May 20, responding to allegations made at a recent meeting about council and staff conduct.
"An individual from the public made allegations against both the members of this council and the staff without evidence framed with the claim that other unnamed people were afraid to speak during retaliation," Condon said. She described her son’s silent cross‑armed reaction at that meeting and offered an apology for any confusion. "In my opinion, this is gossip and gossip has no place at a public meeting," she said, and urged that any legitimate concerns be handled discreetly "through the proper channels."
Condon also praised the town and residents after she and others secured placement of the Coastal Ridge Preserve application onto the A list, saying the result was "a testament to your hard work and to all those residents wearing yellow shirts who saw the true value of this land." No formal allegation or investigation outcome was presented at the meeting.
Thomas Condon, also of 19641 Holiday Road, followed and lauded the town’s professionalism while urging the council to hold formally appointed residents and vendors to the same high ethical standards expected of staff and officials.
No council action on the allegations was recorded during the meeting; the comments were part of the public‑comment period.
