Green County committee welcomes new regional livestock educator; staff outline reports and facilities updates

Lynn Perkins, Green County’s Area Extension Director, formally introduced Casey Lobdell as the county’s new Regional Livestock Educator; Perkins said Lobdell began the position in January 2026. Lobdell introduced himself to the committee and summarized the programs he is working on and the support he provides to local producers.
Perkins also updated committee members on a new Extension/AED map and distributed copies to those in attendance. The minutes use the acronym “AED” but do not define it; the committee received the new map at the meeting.
Extension Business Manager Samantha Wileman briefed the committee on the hiring process and timeline for a new County Administrator and provided an update on Justice Center work tied to a Sheriff & Jail project. Wileman said she would bring additional details to the committee at a future meeting.
Wileman also told the committee that Regional Dairy Educator Jackie McCarville and Human Development & Relationships Educator Bob Wiegel will present the department’s annual report at the February County Board meeting.
No formal personnel actions were taken during the public portion of the meeting. The committee’s next meeting is scheduled for March 4, 2026.
