Kenosha County board approves temporary fireworks stand in Randall, tables second permit in Wheatland

The Kenosha County Board of Adjustment voted 3-0 on April 16 to approve a temporary fireworks and novelties sales stand and an overnight trailer for VR WM HOLDINGS LLC on two parcels in the Town of Randall.
The approval followed a motion by Chris Brown, seconded by Dave Devito, and the vote was recorded as unanimous among the three members present: Robert Stoll, Dave Devito and Chris Brown. Board members reported site inspections prior to the hearing: Devito on April 15, 2026; Stoll on April 13, 2026; and Brown on April 14, 2026.
At the same meeting the board considered a separate temporary use request from LGPS LLC for a fireworks sales stand in the B-3 Highway Business District in the Town of Wheatland. Brown moved to table the LGPS LLC request; Devito seconded, and the motion carried 3-0.
Senior Land Use Planner Benjamin Fiebelkorn noted that both requests were reviewed under Section 12.23.040 of the county ordinance governing temporary uses, which requires Board of Adjustment approval before beginning a temporary use. No members of the public spoke during the citizens' comment period.
